Speaker 2: Oh, hi. This is Stouffer. I'm currently in charge of our crew equipment teams. Basically, everything, the vehicle that you're touching, such as space to common bags, etc, is or is going to be under my command. If you're bringing in any initial equipment, I'm the one that will be taken care of and manifest in and so forth. I'd like to thank you all for stopping by today. As you know, a lot of this was covered in our previous meeting. But there are a few tweaks I need to make so we can get our transcript updated. Also, just wanted to have some time to talk with y'all. I think one of the main things I want to jumpstart this meeting off with is what we call the commlink. Let me just talk through what I mean when I say we're actually getting the comm to the ground or whatever.

Now, stop me if I'm going down too deep a rabbit hole. But Dragon has basically an S-band comlink. That means we can communicate with at least 1500 other resources we now have available. One of those is called TDRS. Short for that Darren rabbit science. No, seriously, It's short for Tracking and Data Relay Satellite. We may we might also sometimes referred to it as a TT RS s, short for Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System. It's a little wonky but bear with me. And that TDRS with one’s is currently orbiting about 22,300 miles above the surface of the earth even as we speak. Pretty cool, huh? That's our primary communication pathway right now. We're working in agreement in there right now with NASA to basically get TDRS coverage for this mission.

The second data source, as you know, is from our ground stations, such as the one at White stands, aka the W sc. And of course, the GR GT and WAMP we- we actually have a fairly large network across the world for different coverage. We- we have two types, one type can just receive, and then another can do two-way directional comp. All of them can receive there's only a handful that does the two-way call. So, command in or you know voice up we've- we've only got those two-way comm stations. The third method, which isn't as relevant for your mission, of course, is communication with the station. J tells me there's an S-band link for that, but I haven't been able to figure it out myself. Maybe he'll give us some more info about that when he steps up here which- which should be in about five or 10 minutes. Jay, are you there?

Speaker 2: Oh, hey, it's Jay. Taking over now from a twofer. Let's get on with this presentation about our upcoming mission. Now, based on the ground track, you'll, you'll never perfectly have something overhead. So there'll be some- some that kind of graze at a lower elevation, if you will, these, those could be short as a handful of minutes. But roughly, you can kind of assume a ground pass running in about five to 10 minutes. In some areas, we actually have a few different ground stations strung together. across most of the continental US, we've got really great coverage. Also, pretty good coverage around Australia, and on the eastern, sorry, Western European states and in the Middle East.

Speaker 2: Oftentimes, if we, if we landed upright with, say, Passover, like Florida, you can get a good one, maybe even five to 20 minutes of coverage continuously. That's, that's all just stuff will kind of have to do in pre-planned. There'd be a little bit of effort based on day a launch introductory checklist, as to discuss the return site, that'll change the timing a little bit, but that's all the stuff we all kind of define ahead of time. I just wanted to give you a sense of, you know, of what the vehicle is capable of, you know, and, and all that kind of good stuff. You know, I hope that's helpful. I think I think one thing they show also over what tau for mentioned, the recurring you know, ground, the reoccurring, you know, ground pass, you also get, essentially, a reoccurring pass of ground stations.

Speaker 2: So, we can plan ahead, you know, as long as we're, you know, on that reoccurring ground pass, you know, we probably have known times a day when we'll be over a long pass. I think the longest pass strung together in Florida could be even- even longer, like 20, maybe 30 minutes. That's kind of one of the things that they sort of mentioned, the way that our vehicle network is designed is, is its sort of a very secure, protected network of at least 1500 different components. And that's not just on the spacecraft. That's also true on the ground. Our mission control centers, they have a totally firewalled system, you know, and I'm sure you can, you know, imagine for all the reasons why, you know.
